“Pasta & Parks Fundraiser Supports Regional Parks

June 13, 2013 – Santa Rosa, CA – The Sonoma County Regional Parks Foundation will host “Pasta and Parks before The Big Q,” a fundraiser to support Sonoma County Regional Parks, on Friday, July 12 from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. The family-friendly event will take place at the football field at Sonoma Academy (next to Taylor Mountain Regional Park), 2500 Farmers Lane. The evening will include a pasta dinner donated by the Pasta King, Barefoot Wine and Lagunitas Beer, music by the popular band Cahoots, a raffle, children’s activities with the Children’s Museum of Sonoma County, and displays that detail plans for the new Taylor Mountain Regional Park.

VIP tables for eight people cost $500 and include tableside seating with linens, a guided hike at Taylor Mountain Regional Park with hike leaders such as naturalist Peter Leveque and historian Katherine Rinehart, and a gift bag. Lawn seating is $30 for adults and $15 for children age 12 and under. Tickets at the door, if available, will be $40 for adults and $20 for children.

Pasta and Parks before The Big Q is a prelude to the Wine Country Big Q, a nationally sanctioned BBQ competition held at Sonoma Academy on Saturday, July 13. Guests at Pasta and Parks will have the opportunity to see pitmasters from throughout the U.S. set up and begin slow cooking their entries for the competition.
