Not really a hiking thing, but a worthy outdoors/parks program to share (and one that I personally partake in several times during the summer):

From Sonoma County Regional Parks:

“Local food trucks, those mobile vendors of delicious street food, return to Santa Rosa’s Spring Lake Regional Park on Tuesday, May 28, and roll into Sebastopol’s Ragle Ranch Regional Park on Thursday, May 30.

The trucks will be at Spring Lake from 4 p.m. to dusk each Tuesday and at Ragle each Thursday evening through the summer, so come out after work, take a walk, unwind and enjoy an al fresco dinner. Not only is this an opportunity to get outside and try something new, it’s a great-tasting way to help the parks. Each food truck will donate a portion of its sales to the Regional Parks Foundation to support park programs and operations.

Participating trucks include the Awful Truck, Charlie Bruno’s Chuckwagon, Fork Catering, Nana Mae’s Organics, Palooza Catering, Sweet Franco’s Hot Dogs, and Ultra Crepes. Visit each truck’s Facebook page below for their schedules.

Parking is $7 or free with a Regional Parks membership. (At Spring Lake, the trucks will be near the boat ramp at the Newanga Avenue entrance.)

Remember, dogs on leash are welcome in the parks, so bring the entire family!
